Kimberly Ann Cannon
Do you know someone who is a mom, a business director, a wife, and an awesome person? Well, probably not, but I do. Her name is Kimberly Ann Cannon and she is my mom.
Kimberly was born in 1977, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her parents are Nancy Weidman and Steve Weidman. She has a younger brother named Michael. Her family is from Germany and France. Her favorite memories as a child were at Christmas time. She liked it so much because she had traditions with her family, such as going to see the Nutcracker and opening advent calendars that had different pictures for each day. She continues those traditions and more with our family today.
Kimberly went to an elementary school called William Penn. The school was for grades kindergarten to 6th grade. Then she went to a junior high school for grades 7 to 9, called Linton. Then she went to Penn Hills High School. It was about that time in high school when she started to think about what she wanted to do for a career. She wanted to be a journalist for a newspaper. During college, she got a job at a newspaper for a while. Then after college, she met Joseph at a party and her life was about to change. Joseph said, “She was a little reluctant but, I knew I wanted her to love me for the rest of my life.”
Kimberly and Joseph got married in 2006, They later bought land and built a family home on it. The house was fit for a family. Although Kimberly loved her job, she wanted to have a family with Joe. Her job at the newspaper was giving her terrible hours and she could not work like that. Also, her job was not paying enough to support having a family. So, she looked for a job and was hired as the new director of internal communications for Stop & Shop.
In 2009, Elodie and Brenna Cannon were born (aka me and Bren). She loved the early years of motherhood. Flash forward to today, Her hobbies are spending time with her family, hanging out with her great friends, organizing Thursday night beach nights, going biking and exercising, and trying to make the school a better place with the Little Compton PST and the Little Compton Education Foundation.
I chose to write about my mom because she always tries to organize events with everyone and will lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. We should all try to be like her.
