I love my mom! She didn’t actually grow up here in Little Compton, but she has moved here.

My mom was born in Goshen, New York, in 1977. Her parents are Bob Durant, and Dee Durant. She is the youngest in her family. Molly’s ancestors mainly came from Yugoslavia, United States, Ireland and France. She had grown up (Goshen, New York) on a large property with a small pig farm. She didn’t move a lot. In fact she moved, just once as a child.

As a child, my mom LOVED to dance! She was a great dancer, and was incredibly happy when she had been chosen for the role Clara in the Nutcracker! It was wonderful, she said. Knowing that she did dancing in all these young years, she must have wanted to do something with dance, and she did, she wanted to be an actress or a dancer!

Molly attended school at Little Britain Elementary/Middle school. She attended this school for four years. In middle school she attended WashingtonVille Middle School for four years, until she went to high school at Storm King, a boarding school. She found a college and got accepted!  The State University of New York at New Paltz, Emerson College. She was beyond happy.

Molly met her husband in Connecticut. She later settled down, and owned a children’s store for many years. The store was originally an art gallery, but soon turned into a kid store. Molly raised five children, Landon, Kiera, Bella, Georgia and me. My name is Laila and I am the youngest. As her children grew up she started volunteering to be the dance teacher at the school,  and do some recess monitoring, and lunch monitoring.

Now that Molly and her family have moved to Little Compton, we are happy and healthy. At the moment, we have 4 dogs, two puppies (one is 9 months and the other is 4 days old), and two other dogs.

I hope you learned something about my mom, and how wonderful and amazing she is! She truly is the best.
