Rebecca Bell Martin
My mom was born in 1978 in Longview, Washington. Her parents are Brad Bell and Paula Carter. Her stepdad is Ron Carter, and her step mom is Susan Bell. In total, her parents had 2 boys and 5 girls. She is the oldest child. One fact about my mom is that she traveled a lot. She also moved a lot, some places she moved to were Georgia, Missouri, and Kansas. As a child, her hobbies were mostly reading, playing sports, and she remembered all the times she played with one of her sisters, Debbie.
As a kid my mom went to Elkhorn Elementary, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Then for middle school she went to Lewis Middle School, in Excelsior Springs, MO and Awtrey Middle school in Kennesaw, GA. When she was done with middle school she then went to North Cobb High School. While in high school, she worked in the aquatics and aviary department at PetSmart. Then she went to Georgia State University for one year. After her first year of college she moved to Washington State where she graduated from the University of Washington in 2003. Currently, my mom has decided to continue her education and is presently enrolled at Bryant University for her MBA. She works for a company called Fidelity Investments. She is focusing her studies on data analytics.
As an adult, she eventually moved to Westport, Massachusetts, where she worked at Bittersweet Farm. That is where she met her husband, (my dad) and they got married on September 2, 2007. My mom and dad had 3 kids, Me (Ben), Sam and Will. We also have two dogs Rocky and Chloe. In 2013, our family moved to Little Compton, Rhode Island where my dad was born and raised.
My mom has had a few different jobs over the years, all which have been in the same industry, investments. She loves what she does, and loves to learn. Her current job is learning and development at Fidelity Investments in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
My mom has always wanted to travel around more with us. She is most proud of working hard to get through school. Her hobbies are gardening, spending time with her family, and going to the beach. When she has free time she loves to relax, and read a good book. Her original job idea was to have a corner office around New York City. Her dad, Brad Bell was the biggest influence in her life because he always gave her good advice. The best thing that has ever happened to my mom was moving to Little Compton, having 3 children, and meeting her husband Matthew. The nicest place she has ever been is Little Compton, because of the peaceful neighborhood we live in. Plus, lots of our family live close to us and some of our family members are even our neighbors! My mom is amazing, she is a very nice person and has had a big life.
